USApple issued the following statement regarding the Farm, Food, and National Security Act of 2026 released by House Committee on Agriculture Chairman Glenn “GT” Thompson:
“America’s apple growers thank Chairman GT Thompson and the House Agriculture Committee for their work to draft a new Farm Bill. We are encouraged that the Chairman’s Bill would require USDA to establish a Specialty Crop Emergency Assistance Framework. This approach recognizes the unique economics of apple production and would provide a payment structure that better reflects revenue losses, building on lessons from CFAP-2 and MASC.”
