Making the Case for USMCA

USApple continued to elevate the importance of extending the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) through media engagement, coalition advocacy and direct outreach to federal decision-makers.

USApple President & CEO Jim Bair was featured in Agri-Pulse discussing why long-term trade certainty matters for apple growers, whose orchards require significant upfront investment and remain productive for decades.

USApple also helped mobilize the agriculture industry around a letter to President Trump urging renewal of the agreement and joined the Agricultural Coalition for USMCA for a meeting with Commerce Department officials to reinforce the importance of preserving tariff-free trade with Canada and Mexico.

Jim Bair’s LinkedIn post highlighting the more than 2,300 farmers who signed the letter urging USMCA renewal was selected by LinkedIn’s News Team as an Editor’s Pick, making it the featured Top Perspective on the issue and significantly expanding the apple industry’s reach beyond its traditional audiences.

Canada and Mexico are the top two export markets for U.S. apples, together purchasing more than half of all U.S. apple exports each year, valued at more than half a billion dollars.
