USAEC is the trade association representing five apple exporting states: California, Michigan, New York, Pennsylvania and Virginia.  USAEC supports exports of U.S. apples by administering export promotion grants from the U.S. Department of Agriculture; sponsoring researching; working to reduce import barriers to U.S. apples; and coordinating industry efforts with the USDA Foreign Agricultural Service and the USDA Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service.  USAEC helps connect U.S. apple exporters with potential customers in foreign markets and supports the sale of U.S. apples once business relationships are established by organizing trade missions to program markets and bringing key importers, distributors and retailers from foreign markets to the USA; participating in overseas trade shows; and conducting retail promotions in program markets to introduce consumers to U.S. apples along with other activities.
